In 2002, Jenny Mackenzie’s four-year-old daughter was the third generation to be diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. 10 years later, Mackenzie exposes the spiraling epidemics of both type 1 and 2 diabetes in children through five real-life stories, including her own. SUGAR BABIES intimately follows these families, while clinicians and health experts help us to understand how we got here and what we can do about what experts call “the epidemic of the century” that is threatening our youngest generation.
